Health officials report two new pertussis cases
Calaveras County officials Thursday raised its count of the number of whooping cough cases in the county to three, a local indicator of what is considered an epidemic outbreak of pertussis in the state this year. Details of the two newest cases were not released. Health officials reported their first case in June, in a 66-year-old Angels Camp man.
